I love the word FRILL/FRILLY
it can mean: to decorate, to become wrinkled, of the eagle:to scream, to shiver with cold, ornamental edging made of cloth (source: Oxford English dictionary)
I also love it because it is one letter away from, "shrill"
For me, titles arise upon a painting's completion. I take lots of notes in my sketchbook (while making a painting) and they inform the final title.

I am fascinated with the 1540 portrait of Henry VIII by Hans Holbein the Younger. I am amazed at the overt richness of his being--from his jewel encrusted torso to pink silk ribbon that fastens his codpiece with a flourish of display. His body spreads his “king-ness” from edge to edge; only his head remains contained in the picture plane. In my painting, I pull these symbols apart—power, excess, seduction, artifice—and reshape them through the mess and vulnerability of my own body.
